Retrieving a new transaction for an hidden stock

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,
I always hide my stocks after I sell them for clarity in the account viewer. When I then buy them again and download the transaction from my broker, the stock stays hidden. When I download a lot of transactions, things get confusing.

I suggest unhiding an hidden stock if its share count becomes different from 0 because of an internet download. Presumably, if you are doing it by hand, then you know what you are doing. Or provide an option "Automatically hide/stop downloading stocks with 0 shares".

My suggestion might not work (I haven't thought of all the implication), but my issue is real.

Cheers,

Hi luca,

There is a command for this. See "File / File Operations / Hide Sold Investments...". You can use this dialog to both hide sold investments, and un-hide non-sold investments based on shares owned over a specified date range (which you can set to today - today). This command can also turn on/off the option to retrieve prices for these investments.
Thanks,
Mark

I see. I use it to hide them. It never occurred to me that it works in reverse too. I kind of wonder if my suggestion is still the most intuitive thing to do, but at least I have a good workaround.

Thanks,
