Problem converting from XP/V9.6 to W7/V10.4

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby jlp93463 » Sat Mar 06, 2010 12:36 pm

I am converting to Windows 7 on a new computer. Bringing backed up data from V 9.6 and restoring to V10.4. Successfully installed V10.4. Restored. Closed portfolio and program. When it closed it gave tghe message "Failed to open C:\Program Files\Fund Manager\Autoback\Top Portfolio_1.fmb". Upon opening again it was the unlicensed version and no portfolio. Tried 2nd time same result. Triede 3rd time and it's saying tghe key isn't correct. I copy and pasted from the email so I know it was correct. What now?

Hello jlp93463,

I've just resent your license key. Please make sure you are entering it into a 10.x Personal version. If you still have troubles entering your license, please send us an email:

Once you get the program open again, change your auto backup location by selecting "Options / General Preferences... / Data". Under Windows Vista and Windows 7, compatible programs cannot write into the Program Files area. This is why you're getting the permission denied error. Change it to something like "My Documents\Fund Manager\autoback".
Thanks,
Mark
