Close portfolios

I have been testing several portfolios and now I want to actually add those portfolios and download real data. The Close Portfolio option under File isn't highlighted and it won't allow me to delete the portfolios I want to get rid of. I just want to delete these portfolios and start over.

Also, when I down load, it won't let me download transactions any farther back than 3 months. Some of my portfolios have been around for years.

Been going thru the manual but not getting anywhere. I'm trying to get used to this thing as the xl spreadsheet ain't working anymore.

Hi SHosier,

If "File / Close Portfolio" isn't enabled then you haven't saved your data to a portfolio file (*.mm4). If you have open some sub-portfolios, just select them in the Portfolio Editor window, and hit "Delete" on your keyboard, or choose "Edit / Close".

When retrieving transactions from your broker using the New Portfolio Wizard, Fund Manager attempts to retrieve all available transactions, plus your current positions. Different brokers keep transactions on their OFX servers for varying amounts of time, some as short as 3 months... In this case, Fund Manager will get all these transactions, and then make any necessary adjustment entries to get your current balances correct. At this point you can manually edit the transaction history if you'd like to have more historical records.
