Preserving the Hierarchy.

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,

Is there a way to preserve the hierarchy in the Portfolio Editor? I always perform a backup before exiting FM, but when I reopen FM the hierarchy is shrunk.

Thanks.

Edit: What I'm looking for is FM to open with all sub-portfolios opened, at the bottom-most level. Even though I save FM this way, it's "forgotten" by the next time I open.

Hi aviator,

Portfolios do not remember the expanded/closed state of the tree view items on the left side of the portfolio editor. Portfolios do however remember your last selected sub-portfolio, and re-select that same sub-portfolio upon opening the portfolio file. If that sub-portfolio is in the hierarchy, it will be expanded, so it is shown. So, you can't make everything come back in the expanded/collapsed state you last left it in, but you can at least expand down to whatever you last left selected.
Thanks,
Mark

Though not decisive, i would appreciate too if the exact expanded/closed state of the portfolio tree view could be memorized.

Thanks.
