I realize now that this is the 3rd time I have had an investment file disappear.

Anybody else have a similar experience?

Hi Normnip,

Is the file disappearing off your hard drive, or being closed from a sub-portfolio? Can you provide steps to reproduce the problem?

Investment files can either be opened individually, or usually they are opened as part of opening a portfolio file (*.mm4). When you open your portfolio file, all the investments it contains are also automatically opened. If you add an investment to a sub-portfolio you must save your portfolio. You can do this using "File / Save Portfolio", or if you have the option to automatically save on exit (Options / Save Portfolio On Exit) turned on, it will be saved when you exit Fund Manager. If you don't do either of these, when you exit, Fund Manager will ask you if you want to save your changes to the portfolio. Hopefully this helps explain how things should work. If you still have problems, please let me know what steps you're taking, and what exactly happens.
Thanks,
Mark
