Report Filters

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark,
When I call up one of the pre-formatted reports, such as Portfolio Value, under REPORTS, I find that I cannot have the various stocks listed in alphabetic order. They appear in somewhat random order. In the Portfolio Editor, the stocks are in alphabetic order and I would like to have the Reports provide that. I have checked the filter setting and there apears to be nothing there to create alphabetic listings of stocks.

My second request is that I have been unable to find a way to eliminate sub-portfolios when I do a Report which takes in most but all of the sub-portfolios. For example, I have a sub-portfolio which contains all of the stock positions I have sold. When I use Portfolio Value under Reports, I don't want this information included, but I have been unable to find a way to eliminate it using the filters provided.
Thanks

Hi johnreid,

From within your Portfolio Value report, select the top level menu command "Sort", and then you can sort by any displayed column, including "Investment Name" if you are listing by investment. It is not in the "Report Settings" dialog, it is the top level "Sort" menu.

You can "hide" a sub-portfolio. Right mouse click on it, and choose "Properties..." and turn on "Hidden". Now, turn off "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios".
Thanks,
Mark
