Old FM.dat file conversion

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Somehow I think one investment file didn't get converted with one of the upgrades I did. Not sure how that happened.

But now I can't open it, and don't know how to access the data. Is there any way to get this file converted? Can I mail it to you?

Hi smacrae,

If you open the investment file using a 10.x version by selecting "File / Open Investment(s)..." what happens? Do you get an error message? What does the error message say?

The 10.x versions can open any investment file from any prior version, so if you cannot open it in 10.x then you won't be able to open it in any version. Sending it to us would not be of any use if the file is corrupt or something.

Do you maybe have a backup you can restore this investment file from? Fund Manager makes automatic backups too, so you could check those as well.
Thanks,
Mark

I forgot about the autobackup - I accessed the file through that. I was prompted to convert the backup version to 10.x - which I did, and accessed the file.

Thanks - I think I good now.
