Default Fonts in Price & Transaction Dialog Boxes

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby tcvisser1 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 7:19 am

I am using version 9.7 and am having trouble with the small default fonts used in dialog boxes. I have changed the fonts in the data register, graphs and reports, but cannot change the dialog boxes. Entering transactions is difficult due to the very small light "system" fonts used. Is there any way to change these?

I have increased the system font DPI in WinXP but it doesn't seem to affect the Fund Manager defaults.

Hi tcvisser1,

Changing the system font DPI should also increase the size of fonts/dialogs in Fund Manager. Normally I believe this requires a reboot when you change the font DPI. Did you try re-booting after making this change?
Thanks,
Mark

Rebooting does affect all the fonts except in the transaction window and price window dialog boxes that pop-up when I select "New" to enter or edit data. The data register window itself can be changed without any problems. I never had this problem with a CRT monitor because it was using a lower screen resolution. This appears to be a Windows XP issue, since a few other programs I have exhibit similar conditions. Is it possible that you are hard-coding the font in the application somewhere that doesn't allow the font size to change in these pop-up windows?
It would be nice if the screen view could be variable, like most web browsers, where holding down the "Control" key and using the scroll wheel on the mouse will increase or decrease the size of the page.
In any case it was just a question on my part and not a big issue.
Thanks for responding,
Tim

Hi Mark,

Interestingly, I changed the DPI one more time from 139 to 140, rebooted, and now the text size in the dialog editing boxes changed. Problem solved!
Thanks for your suggestion.
