Question about %Gain-F

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby DavidJ » Wed Dec 02, 2009 12:40 pm

Hi!

I'm running FM 9.3

The help file says that "For all the % Gain-F figures the portfolio numbers are averages."

Are these weighted averages?

Thanks.

Hi DavidJ,

No, they are not. In the new 10.x versions you can use TWR, which are weighted returns.
Thanks,
Mark

OK, I looked in the v.10 help file and that's just what I was looking for.

Next question: I have a bunch of memorized reports in v.9. Is there a way to import them into v.10, or do I have to rebuild them by hand?

Thanks again.
David.

Hi David,

Just install v10 right over your current v9. All your memorized reports will still be available. Your memorized reports are stored in the registry, so as long as you can see them now in v9, you'll still see them once you install v10.
Thanks,
Mark
