I seem to have managed to have a stock which I held in two separate portfolios listed with the same file name.

How do I amend the filename one of the holdings ?

thankyou

Hi rupertpage,

If you have the same investment in 2 separate sub-portfolios, but you want them to be separated, you want each of them to be saved as their own *.dat investment file. We have some tips on this here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq ... tments.php

Given your current situation, there are multiple ways you could do this, but here is one way:

1) Make note of the full path and filename of the investment as it is now. You can use "Investment Properties... / Statistics".

2) In the Portfolio Editor select one of these investments, and use "File / Save Investment As..." and assign it to a new filename. This will change the filename of the investment in the other sub-portfolio too, so you need to close it and re-open the first investment.

3) In one of the sub-portfolios, close the investment. Then, open the investment you made note of in step #1. You should now have each *.dat investment file open once.
Thanks,
Mark
