Backup issue

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Mark,

After reinstalling the program to my new system and importing the registry key for custom reports et al I have a problem with backup. I have to manually select backup and manually name the file. The message I get is "Cannot open xxxxxxx-1.fmb" I tried using that file name for one of the backups. No matter. Subsequent backups still returned the error message.

Hi Mike,

Do you mean the automatic backups are failing? If so, make sure the automatic backup directory is set to someplace that exists, and you have write permission into. See "Options / General Preferences... / Data".
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I had checked Options/General/... after the reinstall. The location was correct but acting on your suggestion I re-entered the backup location. Magic, upon exit the autobackup worked as advertised.l

You can close this one.

Thanks,

Mike
