: : : Mark,
: : : I am a potential new user and am trying out FM6. I have set up a couple of portfolios and wanted to have them automatically updated. I found the command line arguments and set up a daily scheduled event for each portfilio with the /I /Q commands. Although this runs, it still stops for a date range input. What am I missing.
: : Hi Gene,
: : It sounds like you've got a historical quote server selected. Please
: : go into "Options/Internet Settings..." and select a "daily" quote server,
: : such as "Yahoo". If you have a historical quote server, you will get the
: : prompt for the date range to retrieve. The quote server is memorized as
: : part of your portfolio, so you'll want to do a "File/Save Portfolio" after
: : making the change.
: : If you already have a daily quote server selected as your default quote
: : server you may have an investment that is assigned to use a historical
: : quote server, instead of the default quote server. If this is the case,
: : see "Investment Properties.../Internet Retrieve".
: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: thanks Mark,
: It was the Historical server, changed and now it runs OK.
: Have you considered and user settable option at a stock or portfolio level that if set and upon "OPEN" would go get price updates since last stored date? ie if if last update was done on the 12th, and the open was on the 17th, the option would involk a temporary "historical" server update to get prices fro 13th thru 17th. This would make it easier for folk that do not want to do command line and scheduler setup.
Glad you got it working. No, I hadn't considered that before, that is
a good idea though, I can see that being useful.
