: : : Mark,
: : : I am using version 5.2.305, and I am trying to print in color the Overlaid Investment window. Prints only in B/W. I have set my printer, an Epson Stylus Color 600 for the correct options, but no color. Also, when I try and print a Portfolio Report in color (lots of Red!!), it is sporadic. Some of the negative values print in Red, and others don't. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong here?

: : Hi Art,
: : When it prints in B/W do you see a different line type displayed in the
: : legend? If FM thinks your printer is a B/W printer, it will print different
: : line styles, rather than in color. Since the report is printing some in
: : red and some not, it sounds like either a bad printer driver, or you are
: : running low on printer ink?

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Mark,
: Got on the Epson site to make sure that I had the latest driver, and I did. Just to make sure though, I downloaded and installed it again. Took a simple two investment overlaid graph, and made them both the same color. Set printer to Text/Graph B/W, and the plot lines look the same as when I had them different colors and printed B/W. Doesn't seem like FM is recognizing that I've asked for a B/W print. I recall some versions ago that the line characteristics were different, but have not seen that recently. What should they look like on the simple two investment graph? Also, just installed two new print cartridges, and ran printer utility to print a test print. Checks out fine. Seems like I'm stuck in a mode between color and B/W. I'll run some more tests to see if I can localize the situation.

Hi Art,
Has this ever worked before? When FM prints it queries the printer driver
about the capabilities of your printer, asking if it is color or B/W. It then
uses this to print accordingly. If FM thinks it is B/W you will see a short
little vertical line to the immediate left of the investment name in the
legend. The first investment is a solid line, the second is a dashed line...
I'm not sure about how your driver is handling printing B/W. If it still
returns that it is a color capable printer, then FM will try and print in
color, and the driver will be mapping colors to B/W.

Thanks,
Mark
