: Just bought a new computer and want to transfer my fund manager to it. How can I do this? I am currently running 2.0. I have tried downloading the newest version to my new computer and then restoring the data from a backup of my old computer, but it wouldn't work.

Hi Brenda,
You can install Fund Manager (2.0 or later) on your new computer. Then,
just copy over your investment (*.dat) and portfolio (*.mm4) files. If you're
using portfolio files created with 2.0 you will need to keep your investments
in the same exact path (example: C:\finance\my_data) for these portfolios
to be able to find their investments. Otherwise, you can just open the
investments themselves, and set up another portfolio. In FM4 this is now
much easier, as you can open multiple investments at once.

Thanks,
Mark
