: : : When I update my prices from the Internet, I get the following message from Fund Manager: "Other ShellExecute Error". Then nothing move. I can't even close the error window and have to force quit the program. The last time I did that, my system exited Windows and shut itself off.

: : : I am using FM v 4.7.237, INTENG4X.DLL version 237 under Windows 98 SE.

: : : I noticed also that when I go to FM Help and click on any of the hyperlinks, I get the same message, unless my browser (IE5) is already open, in which case the hyperlinks take me to the right page without errors.

: : Hi Mike,
: : This sounds like your browser is not quite configured to open URLs from
: : the command line. What happens if you go to "Start/Run..." and type in
: : a URL like:

: : http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com

: : while your browser is not already open?

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: When I do that, IE5 opens and takes me right to that site, as it should.

Does this crash happen every time you retrieve prices? When does it happen,
as soon as you select to do a retrieve, or when? Fund Manager does not
run a ShellExecute as part of the internet retrieve process.
It does use this when trying to take you to a web site with your browser.
Has it ever worked for you?

Thanks,
Mark
