: : : Hi,

: : : I upgraded my OS from Win98 to Win2K Pro, re-installed Fund Manager, and I am now getting an "Error 11011 in GetHostByName" when trying to update prices through Internet.

: : : Is FM just not Win2K compatible yet, or could it be something else. IE5 works just fine (no Proxy, just a modem dial-up connection).

: : : Thanks,

: : : Francois.

: : Hi Francois,
: : Are you sure about that error #? It isn't listed as one of the normal
: : error #'s. Please see:

: : http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/werror.html

: : I have not been hearing of any problems using FM with Win2K.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Sorry Mark,
: The error should have read 11001. However, the text in the werror.html page for this error does not help me understand much at this point.
: I have found that if I am connected to the Internet BEFORE I try the FM Internet Update, it works fine. So it is when FM is trying to connect through the dial-up that this error occurs. It seems as though it cannot find the entry to use in the Dial-up networking.
: Any ideas ?

: Thanks,

: Francois

Francois,

Try the following settings:

Double-click the Desktop Icon "My Network Places"
On the left side of the window, click "Network and Dial-Up Connections"
From the menu select Advanced -> Dial-UP Preferences
On the "Autodial" tab, make sure the "Enable Autodial by location" is selected for your locations.
