: I use alerts to assist with buy and sell points. My problem is that if the alert has been there some time I may have forgotten the reason, or reference. I have tried notes but that is a bit clumsy. Could alerts incorporate a message? (a few characters would do).

: Another feature I could use is variable alerts eg provide an alert when the price falls (rises) a user specified percentage (eg 5%) below (above) a high (low) OR closing price.

: Perhaps if the above can't be done now perhaps a future version could incorporate?

: One last question. How can I remove unwanted data files from the data base (short of using W Expl)? They tend to accumulate and use up space when backing up.

: Thanks for your great product

: Bob

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the feedback on alerts. Those make sense.

To delete an investment from a portfolio you need to close the investment,
then re-save the portfolio:

1) Right mouse click on the investment you wish to close and choose "Close"
from the popup menu.

2) Select "File/Save Portfolio" to save the changes to the portfolio.

To read more about how to delete investments from a portfolio search the
online help for "portfolios" and go to the help topic "How to Create or
Modify Portfolios".

In addition to removing an investment from a portfolio, you can also "Hide"
it if you wish to retain it for your total portfolio figures, but aren't
actively trading it anymore. This is under 'Investment Properties.../Other'.

Thanks,
Mark
