Fidelity Transaction Download

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gator27 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 9:50 pm

I get a message "missing ACCTINFORS in reply" when trying to download transactions and nothing is downloaded.
I used the same procedure that worked for previous downloads.
I am using v12, 442 quote and 174 transaction modules.
What should I do?

Hi gator27,

Please turn on logging at "Options / General Preferences... / Other / Create Log Files When Importing Transactions" and then do another retrieve. Take a look in the "ofxretr.txt" log file. The log file will by in your user's "AppData \ Roaming \ Fund Manager" folder. Is there some sort of error described in the log file?

Also, are you retrieving from Fidelity Investments or Fidelity Netbenefits?
Thanks,
Mark

I am using Fidelity investments. The only ofxretr text file I could find was in finance/logs folder and I didn't see any error message but I did see "INVACCTINFO><INVACCTFROM><BROKERID>FIDELITY.COM<BROKERID><ACCTID>(my acct #). I don't know if that means anything. Logging was turned on.

Hi gator27,

The log files should be in one of these folders, depending on which version of Windows you're using:

Windows XP and earlier:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Fund Manager

Windows Vista and later:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager

Note, these are hidden folders, so you need to turn on the display of hidden files/folders in order to browse to these locations. Also, verify that the date modified of the log files is from the time you did your last retrieve. You can email us the log files.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I re-entered my user name and password in the portfolio properties and the download worked.
I still would like to look at the ofxretr file. How would I unhide it?
Your quick responses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gator27

Hi gator27,

Great, glad you got it working.

You can turn on the display of hidden files/folders from within Windows Explorer. In Windows XP it was under "Tools / Folder Options... / View". In Windows Vista and later, click on "Organize / Folder and Search Options / View". In this dialog is an option to "Show hidden files/folders".
Thanks,
Mark
