Memorized reports- best practices

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Mark, and others,

It is safe to assume that one could use the memorized reports to store and keep quarterly performance reports, or would it cause the file size to eventually become quite large? As an alternative, saving as a PDF would seem logical, but would involve additional steps. How are others using the memorized report capability?

Hi Phil,

This is probably not the best use of memorized reports. Memorized reports memorize your report settings, but not the data. If the data were to somehow change, and you re-ran this memorized report, you would get different figures. Assuming you want to store an exact snapshot of your client's reports, I would recommend a PDF or some other kind of printout that you know won't change. You can use the batch printing feature to quickly print all reports for all clients.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark,

Well, I can see that as being a very useful feature, once I grow into creating the custom reports.
