Portfolio Performance Report - holding consolidation

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby jcarrallo » Tue Aug 07, 2012 9:31 am

Hi,
I have 2 subreports where I hold the same investment: Sub-portfolio N.1 containing 200 shares of MSFT and sub-portfolio N.2 containing 300 shares of MSFT.
When I print a portfolio performance report (including sub-portfolio 1 and 2) and make the subtotals by investment type, I get 2 different lines for my MSFT holding within the same investment type: 1 line with 200 shares of MSFT and a second one with 300 shares.

My question is: Can I consolidate this into 1 single line with 500 shares?

Mant tahnks,
Javier

Sorry but when I said "I have 2 subreports where I hold the same investment: " -->I meant to say: "I have 2 sub-portfolios ..."
Thanks
Javier

Hi Javier,

It sounds like your report is "Listing By" "Investment". When you list by investment, every investment will be on its own line. If you list by "Symbol" however, all investments with the same symbol will be consolidated into a single line. Unfortunately, when you sub-total by "Investment Type" the option to list by Symbol is not available. If you either turn off sub-totals, or sub-total by sub-portfolio then you can list by Symbol.
Thanks,
Mark
