Indicating Price Changes

Hi,
I have one little wish: When I update prices, FM always shows price difference against last time I retrieved prices before the actual day (e.g. if I last retrieved prices one week ago, I get price difference since then) However, I think it would be more sensible to compare prices against previous days closing. For professionals and advisors, it probably makes no difference as they usually follow prices all the time, but private investors are not always connected to the market, and then it might be confusing to see price movements which are not compatible with the actual market (i.e. change since yesterdays closing)

Hi René,

Where are you viewing this price change? Are you looking in some report, or in the Portfolio Editor? If so, can you let me know what specific field you're looking at? I may be able to offer a suggestion to get what you want to see. For example, if you add the "Change" field to the Portfolio Editor that does display the change in price from yesterday to today. If you only have prices recorded 1 week ago, and then today, yesterday's price will be interpolated from the 1 week ago price. To correct this, retrieve all the prices since last week, not just today's price. You can do this by using one of the historical servers, like Yahoo (Historical), and it will fill in all your pricing data for a date range, and not just get the current quote.

Yes it is as you supposed the change field in the portfolio editor i mean. Thanks for the suggestion, I will do so in the future.
