Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby fundchina » Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:28 pm

I have been evaluating the software, and find the stock download for US and Canadian prices easy to use. I have however been unable to access Canadian mutual fund data.

The MSN, Advise for Investors, and StockHouse sites all carry the funds but I am unable to download pricing using Fund Manager. This may be due to the symbol required, however I have attempted several permutations without success. For MSN I would expect the "CA:" prefix. for Stockwatch and AFI I have attempted the ".T" suffix. I have also tried the symbol on its own.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hi fundchina,

Advice for Investors is a good choice for Canadian mutual fund quotes. An example of a symbol to use is:

RBD*BON

If you go to this site, click on the "Mutual Funds" tab along the top, and then you can look up the required symbol they use. You would want to record this same symbol in Fund Manager.
