Filter closed positions from reports

Is there no way to suppress inclusion of investments with 0 balances on the date of the report data?

I know you can "close" investments, but then don't you lose the historical data?

How can I see current holdings only without losing historical data?

Cbenenax, have you considered "hiding" investments with zero balances, instead of closing them? To hide an investment, right click on it, click "Properties...", click on "Other" tab, and check the "Hidden" box.

Also, if you just don't want to see closed investments on reports, while viewing a report, click the "View" menu and Un-Check "Hidden Investments/Portfolios".

Note: If you don't hide the Investment as described in the previous post, they will still show in the Portfolio Editor but not on reports.

Hi cbenenax,

You need to both mark the investment as hidden, and also turn OFF "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" for the investment to not display on your reports. If you turn ON "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" all investments will always display. For more on this issue, you can read this:

Yes. I did leave out the Report Preferences step. Again, while viewing a report, click Options->Report Preferences->General Tab. Near the bottom is a drop down menu for "Do not display Investments with zero share balances". The option I have chosen is "On Ending Report Date".
