Wells Fargo Advisor Transactions

Since Wells Fargo changed to Wells Fargo Advisors LLC, I cannot download transactions with Fund Manager-- get SIGNON error. I am able to use the same password, etc. to access my brokerage account, however. I have tried changing the profile to Wachovia Securities, Wells Fargo Advisors, etc., and everything else. Is there any way you can check this out? Thanks
Hi vincekys,
Please make sure you have transaction module 138 (the latest). Check under "Help / About...". To update, see "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...". I believe you may need to use the "Wachovia Securities" broker in Fund Manager. Right mouse click on your sub-portfolio, and choose "Properties..." and then "Transaction Retrieve Settings...". Try retrieving again. If you still get this error, call up Wells Fargo, and ask them what settings you need to use for Quicken, and make sure your account is enabled for this access. They will probably tell you that they don't support Fund Manager, but if you get the instructions for Quicken, then you can use those same settings for Fund Manager. Both products are using their "OFX" server.
I tried what you suggested. Did not work. Was told to call back during the day.
In the meantime, I got a rather intricate set of instructions (email) from Wells Fargo for Quicken users which involves deactivating my Wells Fargo link in Quicken and then reactivating it. Can I get an email address from you to forward the email to? Thanks. PS: Their phone number to answer all questions is: 877-879-2495
Hi vincekys,
What exactly did not work? Were you able to download the latest transaction module? I'll send you an email you can reply to.
Okay. Please give your broker a call, and see if they can't make sure your account is enabled, and give you instructions. I've sent you an email if you wanted to reply to that with the instructions you've received so far.
Hi vincekys,
Thanks for the update. Glad things are working now.
FM is no longer catching transactions in my WellsTrade brokerage account. I have build 138. I have things set to Wells Fargo Investments.
I've made several deposits and bought shares of a mutual fund last week, all which show up in the activity register at the brokerage. FM seems to log into the account OK and check on things, and reports that there are no new transactions. There are no error messages given, just no transactions found. When I download the activity via a quicken file and then import into FM, FM catches the transactions then. I don't know why the the auto "check transactions" function is not finding anything. Any suggestions, as I LOVE the automatic check and download features that generally work so well in FM. Tod
Hi Tod,
Are you maybe supposed to be using "Wells Fargo Advisor" instead? If you check with your broker, what instructions do they give for retrieving with Quicken? You'll want to use the same settings for Fund Manager, and also make sure you have the latest transaction module (140) by going to "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...".
Hi Mark, when I switch to Wells Fargo Advisor I get the SIGNON INVALID error.
When I switch to Wells Fargo Investments and click on "get all dates" transaction, I indeed do get my account history, except for the most recent transactions. These show in the activity register at the WT broker as occurring on the 7th and the 8th. Is it possible that FM is accessing the information from a database where these transactions have not yet been recorded? Usually, when I can see the transaction in my ACCOUNT HISTORY at all my brokerages, FM sees in the info, too, and downloads it. But that's not happening for the transactions that occurred on the 7th and the 8th. Any thoughts? Tod
Hi Tod,
It does sound like you are using the right brokerage selection if you can see all your old transactions. I'm really not sure why you wouldn't see your newer transactions. Fund Manager is retrieving from your broker's "Open Financial Exchange" server, which is a different server than their web server. It is quite possible there is a delay in updating the database used by their OFX server, but this would be a question for your broker. I would suggest calling them up, and asking. They will probably tell you they don't support Fund Manager, but ask for instructions on retrieving in Quicken or MS Money, as this is the same interface used by those programs.
Like everyone else, I can no longer get updated transactions after Jan 10. Since Quicken had to reprogram its software to accomodate the movement to the Wells Fargo Advisors site, the question I have is, When will you? I do not have the expertise to program FUND MANAGER and neither do WF customer service reps.
If there is ANYBODY AT ALL who can update current transactions from Wells Fargo using FUND MANAGER, I would like to know this.
Hi vincekys,
Sorry to hear about the troubles. I do believe others have it working. For example, sgosin reported it working recently here: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/foru ... php?t=1529 We have already made the same update as Quicken. You just need to select "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." and get the latest transaction module (141). If you still cannot retrieve, please let me know the current error message you are getting. In general, if you contact your broker, and ask for instructions to retrieve with Quicken, you can use those same instructions in Fund Manager. They may need to enable your account, give you a new username/password, etc. The instructions to retrieve vary by broker, so you just need to ask them for current instructions.
I was also not getting the latest transactions from my WellsTrade account. I could get everything before the end of the year, but none of the latest transactions. No error message was given. Just the message, "No new transactions."
After downloading the latest module (141) and changing Transaction Retrieve Settings to Wells Fargo Advisor from Wells Fargo Investments, voila! everything is working as it should. All new transactions were found. Hopefully this will solve vincekys problem as well. Thanks for the assistance and the quick update on this Mark. As usual, your Fund Manager is a real gem. I so love this program. Tod
