Reconciliation Date Incorrect

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby fiscalis » Mon Apr 19, 2010 6:45 pm

Hi Mark,

I'm using the last 9.x advisor version and when I go into the reconcile screen the reconcile date shows as today regardless of the fact I'm using a different an earlier date. This appears this way on a all the portfolios I've check so far.

Any ideas on how to rectify? :)

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

The reconcile wizard will display share balances for the statement date. What is the source of your statement? Are you retrieving from an OFX server, using some file, or are you manually reconciling? The statement source is selected on the first screen of the reconciliation wizard. If you are manually reconciling, you enter the statement date on the 2nd page, in the lower/right. Otherwise, the statement date is determined from whatever statement source you've selected.
Thanks,
Mark

I'm using the TD Ameritrade position file as my source. In this instance I was using a position file with data from either EOM Jan or Feb 2010 and the date displayed was yesterday 4/19/10.

Did I miss something?

Hi Bill,

In the case of a TD Ameritrade position file, the statement date is determined from the position filename. The date is actually not contained inside the file. The date comes from the filename, which should have a format like:

TD100420.POS

where the first 2 numbers are the year, the second 2 are the month, and the third 2 are the day, as in:

TDyymmdd.POS

If your filename does not conform to this naming convention you will get an error message box when you try to use it.
Thanks,
Mark
