Generic Import - Amortization Missing

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby frenchhill » Wed Jun 11, 2025 8:23 am

Mark,

I'm importing transactions using the Generic input. The transactions using the Amortization Transaction Type (DIST_T and REINV_T) are not being read and are missing form the pulldown list when I go into the transaction detail.

Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian,

If you use the Data Register and look at the data type "Distributions", do you see the transaction? Did you see it when importing in the Preview Importing Transactions dialog?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I see the transaction in the Preview window, but when I click on the details the Type field is blank for the Amortization transactions. Everything else is listed in the dropdown.

I did a test import of one Amortization transaction that is blank and it does show up in the Data Register with the Type of Amortization after import.

Hi Brian,

Maybe you could email me a sample transaction file, along with the format string you're using, and I can test it here? I'll send you an email, so you can reply to that.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the information you sent via email, that was helpful. I too see the issue, and it is a bug in the "Importing Transaction Details" dialog box, that it isn't listing the last Reinvestment and Distribution types, which by default is the Amortization type. We'll get this fixed for the next release. This shouldn't prevent you from importing these transactions, but you won't be able to see the correct type in this details dialog during import.
Thanks,
Mark
