Export of Account Number and Generic Export

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby paulstonge » Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:54 am

Neither of the two exports (Fund Manager and QIF) are able to export the account number property of a sub-portfolio. What is the best work around for this? Are there any plans to implement a generic export similar to the generic import?

Thanks for your help.

Hi paulstonge,

If you're trying to transfer accounts from one Fund Manager portfolio to another, you can use copy/paste, as all of the sub-portfolio properties are transferred when copying/pasting. Another possibility is to create a Custom report or Investment Transactions report with account numbers, and then transfer this report to Excel. The Investment Transactions report can be customized to choose which fields to display using "Options / Report Preferences... / Investment Transactions", so you can sort of generate your own generic export.

A generic export is on our list of new features to consider, but it hasn't been implemented yet.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you.

I have each subportfolio in its own directory and mm4 file. I would like to export the subportfolio and associated acct # together. The work around I am developing is to survey each portfolio with autoit and pull the data together in a file.
