REPORTS QUESTIONS

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Mark,
THANKS for your help with the recent data problem I had. The cost of the upgrade was worth it.
1. When I print out my reports. I now have "(USD)" after the name of many of the mutual funds even though I didn't enter it. IS there a way to prevent this as I need space on the report for other info?

2. The older versions of FM allowed the user to review the downloaded data to prevent the dreaded" NA" in the returns field for calculated returns. Is that available on the new version? If nor , it would be helpful to be able to remove, review or update incorrect data.

3. When I delete or modify an investment name in a sub portfolio, FM defaults back to the beginning of the list. Since it is often necessary to modify multiple names in an alphabetic list at the same time, it would be nice if FM didn't automatically default back to the beginning of the portfolio each time. An example of this is when mutual fund company ING recently changed its name to Voya. Each time I had to toggle back to that section of the sub portfolio to complete a new update.

THANKS for all your help over the years!!
Robert

Hi Robert,

1) Do you maybe have some investments assigned to the default currency of $ and some others to the currency in position 24 of USD? In the new version, it is better about displaying currency when your currency is in the non-default currency. You can do a quick test by turning on "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted", and see if this eliminates the display of USD. If so, check the properties of these investments, and make sure they are set to your desired currency.

2) This hasn't changed... When importing/retrieving transactions, you should still see the "Preview Importing Transactions" prior to committing them.

3) You can control the sort field in the Portfolio Editor. Click on the column header of the field you want to sort by. If you're sorting by Name, it will always keep the list sorted by name. Also, if you are trying to change the name of a given security in many accounts, use the "Edit / Symbol List..." command to make changes on a per-symbol basis, instead of a per-investment basis.
Thanks,
Mark
