Invoice not showing subportfolios

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby Chandeleur » Fri Oct 18, 2013 1:43 pm

Mark,
Hey. I just noticed that a couple clients with multiple accounts invoice reports aren't showing each subportfolio. This seems to be a quirk I haven't experienced before. Some households are showing up correctly, and some aren't. Please advise.
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Check that these missing sub-portfolios have a management fee method assigned to them. Right mouse click on the sub-portfolio, and choose "Properties..." to view/assign these.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
For households with multiple subportfolios, I don't list a management fee method for those since they inherit the management fee method of the household.

For instance,
Wellman Household has a management fee that's tiered.
I list no management fee for Wellman IRA and Wellman Roth since they're subportfolios of Wellman Household.

The above has worked for years so it combines household accounts when computing fees for those households.

This issue has just appeared for a new client. There must be something else I've done or for some reason I'm missing or some quirk in the system.

Hey Mark,
It's like the "sub-portfolio" button in the invoice report options isn't working or something for this client. Very strange.

Hi Bryan,

Maybe you have a different management fee method assigned to this client, where you did not check the option "Report Fees at Account Level"? To check this, go to the properties of the sub-portfolio where you have the management fee method assigned (Wellman Household), and under "Management Fee Method", choose "<Edit Fee Methods...>". Edit the method you have assigned, and make sure that "Report Fees at Account Level" option is checked. It could be that you are using a different fee method for the accounts that are reporting by account, than this new client's account.
Thanks,
Mark
