historical price import problem

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby slucheri » Mon Jun 02, 2014 12:26 pm

Hi Mark,

I am trying to import historical prices into FM but there is a problem with the comma as a decimal separator, as it is set on my PC and in my copy of FM.

I have tried these 2 formats:
'100,9
and
100,9

for either one I get the following error message: The specified input format did not match any lines in the imported file.

With . as a separator in the NAV all the quotes get imported but screwed up – is there a solution to this problem ?

Hi slucheri,

What does your whole line look like? What are you entering for "Input Format" during the import? Since you're using a comma as the decimal separator, you don't want to use the comma to separate your fields. You'd need to choose another character, like maybe ";". For example, you can use an input format of:

SYMB;NAV;MM/DD/YY

to import a file of prices, formatted like this:

INTC;9,05;5/31/2014
Thanks,
Mark
