Import generic transactions issue

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

I have an import of generic transactions issue. I have changed the naming of portfolios in FM and I have added account number. When importing using the generic option FM does not recognize the Portfolio Name and/or Account number and executes the import into a new sub portfolio.

I have only added the account number to the portfolio and not to any instruments or the cash account.

How to solve?

Hi Milli,

Make sure you are using the ACCT key in your format string, and it is placed where you have the account number on each line of your importing file. The ACCT field matches your sub-portfolio account number.

If you still have problems, please post the format string you're using, and a sample line from your importing file.

I still have the problem:

Hi Milli,

That looks correct.

When you import it, what sub-portfolio does it get imported into?

I test imported this using your format string and data line, and it correctly went into a sub-portfolio with the name "AA10247_P1220" and account number of "1687124600". Are you sure your sub-portfolio account number is set properly, with no extra space characters?

Hi Mark,

There was a hidden tab after the account number. I've added a trim to the generator and now it works.
