FM treats Scottrade Checks (withdrawls) as a Sell/Redemption. It would seem to me that they should be transfers-out & deposits should be transfers-in.
Is there some setting that controls this?

Hi Bompa,
There is no setting to control this. There is really little difference between a sell and a transfer out when dealing with your cash account. Transfer out are used to sell shares when you don't want to generate any capital gains event, but for cash this isn't an issue as cash investments do not generate capital gains events by default.
Hi Bompa,
Create an "Investment Transaction" report, and under the "Filter..." settings choose "Include Only Portfolio External Transactions (Contributions / Withdrawals)".
Mark,
I see that it works that way if you select a sub-portfolio & choose the cash account only. But, I was hopeing to be able to pull a contribution/Withdrawl report on my master portfolio which has 5 sub-portfolios & see all the withdrawls & contributions.
HI Bompa,
You should be able to do as you describe. Did you turn on the filter option I mentioned: "Include Only Portfolio External Transactions (Contributions / Withdrawals)" Create your Investment Transaction report at your master portfolio level, and when you have this filter option on you will see only transactions that flow in/out of your sub-portfolios. For a description of how transactions are determined as external, please read: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/help ... _flow.html
Mark,
Yes I am using the external transfer option. The problem is that when a stock option expires I Sell or buy it with a price 0f $0.00 to close it out. I guess because there is no cash acct transaction to go with it the report picks up all of these as external transactions. Is this the wrong way to close the expired option? Also I would like totals on the report but I don't see how to get any. Thanks
Hi Bompa,
I see.. Yes, these $0 transactions would show up as "external" since there is no corresponding entry in the default cash account. Since they are $0 they will not add to the value of contributions or withdrawals though. This is the correct way to close an expired option. There are no totals on the Investment Transaction report. This is something we hope to improve in a future version.
