Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gerhardps » Tue Apr 01, 2008 1:22 pm

I have set up a main portfolio that has a few subs with it. Today I went to set up another main portfolio also with subs, and I was wondering is there a way to not have to enter all the info on stocks again. When I enter a new stock (for example aaple) which is owned across the 2 main portfolios it seems I have to enter the info again (ie company name and symbol) and it saves the symbol as aapl1 in the folder. Is there a shortcut, or am I doing something wrong?

thanks

Hi gerhardps,

You're not doing anything wrong. Whenever you set up a new investment, you need to enter all the specifics. One potential shortcut is to make a copy of the investment's data file (*.dat), and just open that, and make any modifications you want, like deleting any existing transactions, and re-entering the new ones for this copy of the investment.
Thanks,
Mark
