Employer account with no cash default account

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Ivan » Tue Nov 30, 2010 2:17 pm

H again Mark,

I have an employer retirement (tax deferred) account at Vanguard which has no cash default account. If I sell an investment, I have to specify a new mutual fund to transfer the money into. I assume I just handle these as sells and buys on the same day, but I want to be sure that using transfer out and in is not more appropriate.

As always, thanks for your quick and helpful replies.

Hi Ivan,

Yes, that is correct. A buy of one, and sell of the other mutual fund would be most appropriate here.
Thanks,
Mark
