Sub-Totals For Custom Fields

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby AssetHound » Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:31 am

I created a field to show me dividend yield on cost. Here it is:
(Projected_annualincome / (Avgpurchase_priceC_end*End_shares))*100

I don't get values for sub-totals in the reports where I use this field, and I don't get a value for the report total. Is it possible to get these values?

Thanks.

Hi AssetHound,

Each of the fields in your equation must be calculable for the report item in question. None of the price or share based fields will calculate for sub-portfolios. (You don't add prices or shares of different objects together.) You have to use value based fields. So, for example, if you modify your equation to be:

(Projected_annualincome / Taxbasis_Assigned)*100

that would calculate for a sub-portfolio. When inserting fields into your equation, there is a drop-down filter, so you can filter to only show "Value Fields" to easily identify which fields will work at the sub-portfolio level.
Thanks,
Mark
