Investment Order Stack

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Mark:
When I add a new investment it automatically goes to the top of the "Investment Order Stack" and reports are listed in that order. I move the new investment to the place in the order where it should be. However, when the file is reopened, the new investment has moved back to the top of the stack. How do you save the proper order?

Also, I have many investment and accounts and manipulating the investment is very time consuming. Can you add a page "up/down" tabs or some other means of more efficient editing?

Thanks

Hi jnewton,

Are you using a portfolio file to remember your open investments? If you do, the portfolio file also remembers the investment stack order.

Which dialog or window are you asking about the page up/down button?
Thanks,
Mark

Sorry for the delayed response. Off for the weekend.

When a new investment is added it shows up on an investment report at the top of the report. I go to the investments tab and then Order... A window pops up listing all investments in multiple accounts and in the order that they are listed on the report. Using the tabs on the right of the screen, the new investment is moved to the appropriate place on the printed report. However, recently when the program is closed and reopened, the new investment shows back up at the top of the report. In other words, the new order has not been saved even if the Apply button is hit. So, what am I doing wrong that the Investment Order is not saved?

The page up/down suggestion is for the Order.. window. Because I have numerous investments in numerous accounts moving the "Move Down/Move Up" tabs about 100 times to get the investment to the correct spot. A "Page Up/Page Down" or something that allows more than 1 line at a time would help the process.

Hi jnewton,

If you use "File / Save Portfolio" after ordering your investments, their order should be recalled this same way next time.

I understand about the page up/down now, thanks for the clarification.
Thanks,
Mark
