Strange finding with FDRXX

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby nrsmd » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:31 am

I have a FDRXX account of ~ 15,000.00 which is truly valued at $1.00/share. On my Master report for today, 6/19, the price per share is listed at $115,828/share making me more wealthy than Bill Gates.

When I use the hour glass, $1.00/share is given, but on the Master portfolio, $115,828 shows up.

What is wrong?

Hi nrsmd,

If you look at this investment in the Data Register under the "Data Type" of "Prices", what closing price do you have recorded for 6/19?

I'm guessing that by "Master report", you are looking at a "Portfolio Value" type report. When you click on an investment in that report, it will open the Data Register window and select that investment. Make sure you are looking at the "Prices" data type, and not your transactions. The price of your transactions can be different than a recorded closing price, which is what will be shown in a Portfolio Value type of report.

How are you updating prices? If this price was retrieved from the internet, and you want to just keep it at a fixed $1/share, go to "Investment Properties... / Internet Retrieve", and turn off the option to "Retrieve Price".
Thanks,
Mark
