Trying to print Capital Gains Report

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

When trying to print a Capital Gains report, I get the following message:

My OS is Vista SP2.
My version of FM is Personal Version 9.7.

Suggestions?

Thanx, Sheldon

Hi Sheldon,

Does the error happen on any report printout, or is it specific to Capital Gains? If you print using the current version 11.5, does this error still show up?

To test out 11.5, make a backup of your data files first, as once you save in 11.5, you wouldn't be able to go back to 9.7 with those same data files.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

It happens on any FM reprt that I try to print. No problem printing from any other application.

I didn't try V11.5.

Thanx,
Sheldon

Hi Sheldon,

It may be due to something we've already fixed in a future version, so I'd suggest trying 11.5. If you still get the same error with 11.5 please let me know. We are not releasing any more updates to the 9.x series.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
After a little further digging, I found that an FM user had the same problem back in June of 2009. Another user (onyourown) came up with the suggestion to run FM from a standard account rather than an administrative account. I tried this and it solved the problem! I gather from their exchange that the situation is unique to users running FM 9.5 with 64-bit Vista, which is exactly what I'm doing.

The Board is an excellent information source.

Cheers,
Sheldon
