Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

I have the personal edition. How can I make a custom history report to show 3 months of begining and ending values, with activities of buy, sell, dividends, % gain and value gain.
I have tried numerous options and need help or an opinion of "forget it"

Hi Joe,

Do you want 3 separate date ranges, each of 1 month, or do you just want 1 date range for 3 months? In the Report Settings dialog you can choose to report either way. Notice at the bottom there is an option to enter between 1 and 6 date ranges. If you just want the 3 months in one shot, leave it on 1. If you want 3 separate date ranges for 1 month each, set it to 3, and enter in your 3 month periods, like:

1/1 - 1/31
2/1 - 2/28
3/1 - 3/31

The Custom report can list by investment, but it does not list each transaction separately. You can get a total for your buys, sells, dividends, but not a breakdown by transaction in this report. Actually, for what you've described, you can get that just from the "Portfolio Performance" report, so you don't have to select the custom report fields.

If you are looking to see transaction level details, see either the "Investment Transactions" or "Open Lots" reports. In each of those reports, you can only have a single date range though.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you Mark, I am satisfied with the outcome. F.M. has been helpful in making some good decisions. ( using what if portfolio's )
