Negative ROI for Money Market

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby stevetone » Mon Apr 25, 2011 9:32 am

I'm guessing that there is a simple explanation, but I am having trouble getting my mind around it.

I have a portfolio that has an overall positive Yield (ROI) on the Portfolio Performance Report, but has negative yields for several of the money market funds within the portfolio.

I know that those money markets did not lose money, so how do I end up with a negative yield?

Hi stevetone,

Do you maybe have account fees (or any other negative distribution) recorded in your money market? Look in the Data Register under "Distributions (all)" data type to see if you have any negative distributions. These would cause your ROI to suffer.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes, of course...I knew there was a simple explanation.

Thank you for your quick response.
