Column Widths

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby Ron Myers » Fri Apr 15, 2011 6:07 pm

I ungraded to version 11.0, now my memorized reports are too wide to print (now columns are wider) and I have to adjust the column width every time before I print. Why does this happen?

If I delete the report and create a new report will this fix the problem?

Hi Ron,

By default in v11 column widths are sized to their content whenever the report is created or the report data/settings change. If you do not want it to auto-size automatically, you can turn this feature off under "Options / Report Preferences... / General / Auto-Size Columns When Report Data Changes".

After it does auto-size you can still manually re-size the columns by clicking/dragging the header. If you do turn off the auto-size feature, you can manually initiate an auto-size whenever you want using "Window / Auto-Size Columns".

This auto-size feature is new to v11. It sounds like you may have previously had slightly narrower columns (which means data was being truncated as it was displayed/printed), allowing you to print on a single page.
Thanks,
Mark
