Performance figures on Exec Summ vs. Portfolio Perf Report

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Mark

I just batch printed all my first quarter reports and I've run into an issue. For most of my client's accounts the performance figures on the Portfolio Performance report and the Executive summary reports match. However, I'm having about 10 instances where the figures for %gain on the Portfolio Performace Report and the Portfolio Returns figure on the executive summary do not match. The beginning and ending balances on both reports match as well.

Any suggestions?

Hi paulk,

The "Portfolio Returns" figures in the Executive Summary report are ROI yields. These are time and money weighted returns earned for the specified period. The %Gain figure in the Portfolio Performance report is different. It is not time weighted. If you have transactions within the reporting period the %Gain and ROI yield will likely be different. If instead you look at the "Yield" column in the Portfolio Performance report, that should be the same as this is also an ROI yield.
Thanks,
Mark
