Custom reports : Problem with Period ranges memorization

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby Djobydjoba » Thu Dec 02, 2010 11:37 am

Hi!
The memorization of date settings in Custom Reports is very weird ! I haven't succeded in creating reports with date ranges correctly memorized yet.
I create a report, set date ranges I want, save it, and when I recall the report few days or weeks after, date ranges have changed and are messed up, systematically.

Please, help me to create a simple report to see %Gain-F for theses 3 date ranges and that will be correctly recalled the month after. I want : Current month, Last Month and Current Year.
It's just not possible ! In "Memorize Report" window, I've saved 4 reports for the 4 combinations of "Float End Date" and "Starting Date Relative to end" options, because it's really unclear for me. I've waited a month : none have correctly retained the date settings...

Regards.

Hi Djobydjoba,

The memorized report options for floating dates is not well suited to multiple date range reports. If you turn on the "Float End Date" option, that will apply to all your date ranges. This may be what you want for "Current month", and "Current year", but it would also change your "Last Month", which is probably not what you want. Since 2 of the 3 do want the float end date option, you can turn that on, but you will have to manually adjust the "Last Month" date range using the Report Settings dialog.

This would be something good for us to improve in the future. I think you'd really have to have a set of the float date options for each date range, separately.
Thanks,
Mark
