Emailing Reports - MAPI error?

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Hi Mark,

I'm testing out the email reports feature (Advisor version 10.6) and I get the following error:

"MAPI Login Failed.
Please properly configure your MAPI mail server."

Whosiwhatsthat?

Hi cheapsk8,

It sounds like you don't have a properly configured e-mail client. The email feature in Fund Manager uses "MAPI" to talk to a default e-mail client on your machine. Default email clients are like Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, etc. They are not web based email accounts, like Yahoo or Gmail. You have to have a working email client to send email through Fund Manager. Fund Manager uses your "default" email program, which you can view under "Control Panel / Internet Options / Programs". If you can tell me what email client you want to use, and what version of Windows you're running, I may be able to provide more specifics on how to check.

Aha.

Email client is Thunderbird 3.0.5.

OS - Vista SP2

Sorry for not replying earlier. I somehow missed this one...

Try searching google for:

how to set thunderbird to be default email client

It looks like you can do this several ways. One of them is within Thunderbird to use "Tools / Options... / General" and set Thunderbird to be the default Mail client.
