Portfolio Value Report

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby klvassalotti » Sun Feb 07, 2010 4:08 pm

I have a portfolio into which I'm combining several sub-portfolios. Several mutual funds are held in multiple accounts. On the value report, funds that are in several sub-portfolios are listed multiple times. Not the case if I report with symbols vs. names - each symbols only shows once with the total of all portfolios. Is there a way to use names and have each investment show up only one time with consolidated totals?

Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith,

Sorry, no...

When you "List By" "Investment" each instance of an investment will get its own line item. If you want to see all of the same investments consolidated, you can "List By" "Symbol", and then all investments with the same symbol will be consolidated into a single line item. When listing by symbol, there is no option to change the label, it will be shown under the symbol name.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, Mark.

Looks like the only way to generate a valuation report that subtotals by asset type is to list by investment name. Don't have the option to list by symbol when subtotaling by asset type.

This isn't really a big deal - just inconvenient. Any chance this could be addressed in the future?

I've been evaluating for a couple of weeks now and I really like the software. The flexibility it allows is great.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Keith,

Yes, you are right. When sub-totaling by asset type, your only "List By" choice is "Investment". I agree it would be good to add more flexibility here in the future.
Thanks,
Mark
