Reports-Portfolio Performance

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby wizard348 » Sun Feb 10, 2013 2:23 pm

I have a number of Fidelity Funds in a sub-directory. I would like a Report which shows the Portfolio Performance (Sub-directory) over the past year. I can get a report showing the performance of each individual fund of that sub-directory over the past year, but not for the sub-directory as a whole.

I have gone into "View", "Portfolio Editor" and made sure the subdirectory that I am interested in is high-lighted. Then I go into "Reports", "Portfolio Performance" and make sure the dates that I am interested in are set. I hit "Done" and I get a list of the funds by name but everything that I am interested in is 0.00.

What am I doing wrong ???

Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Gary,

By "sub-directory", I assume you mean sub-portfolio. It sounds like you are creating the report okay, but the numbers are $0 instead of what you expect. Which column(s) are showing $0? The Portfolio Performance is value based, so you have to own some shares for the date range that you're reporting on to get non-zero values. Do you own shares for the dates in question? You can view your recorded transactions in the Data Register to make sure you own shares for the report dates.
Thanks,
Mark

I was afraid of that. I did mean sub-portfolio's. No I don't own shares for that period. These are "what-if" portfolio's. I will put in fake shares and get what I want.

Thank you for your time. I love this software.

Hi Gary,

If you want to see a similar report to the Portfolio Performance, but price based instead of value based, use the "Investment Performance" report.
Thanks,
Mark
