Mark

Short of using the "email to client feature" is there a way to generate a jpeg or pdf of reports in FM? I'm sure there is a simple way to do it I just figured I would ask here rahter than clicking around the program aimlessly lol.

Hi paulk,

Yes, there is. If you just want a single report/graph, use the "Edit / Copy Picture" for reports or "Edit / Copy to Clipboard" for graphs. This will not only copy an image to the clipboard, but it will create an image file (clipboard.jpeg) in the folder:

<Your User Folder> \ AppData \ Roaming \ Fund Manager \ Images

If you want to create multiple graph/report image files for any number of clients, use the "File / Batch Print..." feature. In this dialog press the "Options..." button and you can direct the output to "Image File (JPEG / EMF)" instead of a printer if you'd like.
Thanks,
Mark

Nevermind Mark - I figured it out.

An option to directly export a report to a pdf , jpeg or doc file would be a great addition in a future upgrade (if possible).

Thanks

Hi Paulk,

Don't know if this is helpful, but I routinely print FM reports to pdf documents.

I use software call Primopdf, which is free, and installs itself on your computer as a printer. When you wish to print to a pdf, you just select Primopdf as the printer. It presents you with a few quick screens to select things like file name and location, etc. and you're done.

What I like best about it is ability to password protect the documents. It also allows you to append to an existing document (if, for example, you want to print two or more FM reports to a single pdf document).

Thanks aviator. I spoke to my assistant this morning and she suggested a similar workaround using Cute pdf (another free pdf tool). I set it up this morning and it works like a charm! Thanks for the suggestion!

p.s. this is one of the reasons I LOVE Fund Manager. Mark's tech support is top notch and the other users are ALWAYS willing to help.

Thanks again!

Using the professional trial version.; I have a graph of the portfolio value and I'm trying to save it as a file. I do not see any option under the "Edit" > copy to clipboard. I'm sure I'm missing something, any suggestions?

I actually found a decent tool here if you are using windows to do screenshots and save the images as jpegs:

Hi oyz79,

In the Advisor version there is an "Edit / Copy to Clipboard" command that copies the image to the clipboard, and also saves a JPEG image in the Fund Manager application data folder. The image copied to the clipboard is a vector based image, so it can be pasted into supporting applications (like Word), and re-sized to whatever you need.

For the Personal/Professional versions you would need to use a screen shot tool like you've found.

The subject of your post was on "Exporting Reports", but I think you meant Graphs. For Reports it is the same when dealing with images, but you can export the raw report data to a CSV file in any version using "File / Export to CSV...".
Thanks,
Mark
