Want ROI using OOP contributions only ...

Hi Septaj,

Do you mean you don't want to include the effects of distributions in your ROI? If so, no, you can't exclude the benefit of distributions. You can actually exclude "Account Fee" distributions by turning off "Options / General Preferences... / Yields / Include Account Fees in Yield Calculations".

If you aren't asking about excluding distributions, then I believe you already get what you're asking for. The ROI yield uses your purchase and sell amounts (which are your OOP costs) as components in the yield equation. For transfers, the "market value" on the date of the transfer is used as the component. You can see the ROI yield equation here:

As I recall, older versions of FM provided the ROI yield either with distributions paid out or re-invested. I am now asking for the former which I think is the same as ROI (OOP cost).

Never have understood why this option was replaced as I thought it provided useful info.
