Help with Custom Rpt - Adjust Cost Base (ACB) for CRA

Hello am not so good with custom rpts and can not for life of me get a adjusted cost base rpt.

Here is the parameters:
ACB= (Total cost of units{including dividends reinvested}+commission or fees) / # units

The sale of shares would reduce the ACB

Note: dividends received as cash are not included in calculation but dividends reinvested must be. This site http://www.fiscalagents.com/newsletter/4abcacb.shtml gives reasonable example of what is done and this site for drips http://www.dripprimer.ca/calculate-acb

I need to run report so can calculate ACB from first transaction (purchase) to the day before any redemption (sale) so can report Capital gain to CRA

Any direction or help would be appreciated.

Hi Terry,

You can get the tax cost basis for either sold shares, or shares you still own. To get the cost basis for sold shares, see the Capital Gains report. To get the cost basis for shares you still own, see any of the fields starting with "Tax basis" in the Custom report. You can get the tax basis for any accounting method (FIFO, AVG, or Specific Lot), and you can get it either in value terms, or in value per share terms. See:

Tax basis per share

Thanks,
Mark
