Suppress Empty Account Header

I've got a sub-portfolio (account) with one investment that was sold out last year. I've hidden sold investments, but the account header shows in reports listed by sub-portfolio (e.g., Portfolio Values or Distribution). The header shows with nothing listed above it and 0 value -- but I'd like to suppress the listing altogether. If I close the sub-portfolio, will the historical info be used in reports covering the dates when the investment was active?

Hi Elliot,

You don't want to close the sub-portfolio, that removes it completely from all historical calculations. Instead, mark it as "hidden". Right mouse click on the sub-portfolio, and choose "Properties..." and enable the "hidden" attribute. Make sure you have the top level "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios" menu un-checked.

That solves my current issue. But if I use File Operations to un-hide over an earlier date range during which the investment was active, it doesn't show because I hid the sub-portfolio. I need to remember to un-hide the portfolio manually. Wouldn't it be better to have the File Operation hide both the investments and the sub-portfolio (if it has no active investment during the period specified)?

Hi Elliot,

Interesting, hadn't thought about that before... Yes, we can consider making the "Hide Sold Investments" also apply to the sub-portfolio when everything in there is hidden.
